We're excited to be presenting at WCS on both Friday and Saturday this year:
Friday, October 23 at 3:00 p.m.: Emergency Fire Lighting. Learn how to start a fire quickly when you need it most—in cold and wet Winter weather! I'll talk about some emergency modern "cheats" to getting a roaring blaze, as well as techniques using natural materials.
Saturday, October 24 at 2:15 p.m.: Winter Camping Shelter Options. I'll talk about the pros and cons of various Winter shelter options, from hi-tech to retro-tech, and show you what Winter life is like with mountaineering-style Winter camping, canvas and nylon "hot tents," fire-based lean-tos, and quinzhees and snow shelters. I'll also make a case for what is often my favorite—no shelter!
